 Passing out the H8er-Aide

January 22nd 2009

There are a couple of quick bitches that I have about the press and coverage of the Obama (now 2 day) administration.  First I know you all are looking for an angle to write about Obama but the slew of reports on "The Truth of Obama's Hope" or any other such headline is completely stupid.  How can you make the assumption or prediction of how a particular policy is going to pan out based on a one or two day old administration.  I mean really if the press were correct about their assumptions the Cardinals (WOOT WOOT) wouldn't be going to the Super Bowl and mission would truely be accomplished.

Secondly, and more annoyingly, the AP has stated that they aren't going to publish pictures of Obama's first full day in office because it flies in the face of objective journalism.  You know what FUCK YOU!  Fuck you and your lilly white horses you rode in on.  For the better part of the Bush administration you republished what ever regurgitation the morons in charge gave you now all the sudden you have morals and journalistic integrity.  A high school newspaper has more journalistic integrity then you egotistical jerkoffs do and they have far less rights (since the Bill or Rights doesn't technically extend to children).  Now all the sudden you are trying to stand on some sort of high ground.  Kiss an ass you at the AP and the other news media outlets who refused to print these photos based on some sort of ethic.  You sound like hypocritic assholes.

The Evil that is PeTA

January 13th 2009

PETA and its so called agenda to save animals from the vile evil human beings that so wish to ensure their destruction is on yet another wonderful campaign to erredicate the evil and trite nature of humans in their campaign to change an animals given name from a sea fish to a "Sea Kitten".  You know I have nothing but heartfelt disdain and loathing of this group and its agenda.  It is for needing to "rebrand" a damn animal, it is for their vile remake of a children's game (lookup the Cooking Mamma Kills Animals flash game), it is for using tactics that are just as off based and underhanded as the hard right anti-abortionists.  The real evil lies in the hearts of these ignorant individuals who choose to ignore real established facts in favor of a tiny demographic's agenda.

You know it doesn't matter if you are a religous zealot, a Darwinian fascist, or anything inbetween truth of the matter is humans are the choosen species that resides on this planet Earth.  God says so in numerous religous publications, Darwin says so in his "survival of the fittest" theory.  Its time to realize that as such erradication of behavior that provides comfort, food, or lifestyle to a whole range of populations spread across the world is not only fruitless and futile but makes one come off as a bigot when such ignorant means are used.

While we should never destroy an ecosystem or species of animal for pure unrestrained pleasure we shouldn't  also condemn and make mockery of those who use animals as mother nature or God saw fit.  Where the hell is their outcry over a lion mauling a zebra?  Where the hell is their outcry over the parasitic disc fish taking food from the tiger sharks mouth?  How about the cat that plays with a dying bird?  Food for thought...

For Sale

December 27th 2008

So you as a state governor want to sell your roads, parks, and other public facilities to private companies in order to quickly shore up your state's budget without having to raise taxes.  Isn't it still taxation though when you have to pay to drive on the road, to pay to play in the park, or to pay to use public facilities?  Oh, my bad, that's not taxation that's capitalism....whatever.....RRF

Boondocks Quaint...

December 21st 2008:

Aaron McGruder is an artist who draws a syndicated cartoon that is published throughout the United States.  In his cartoon, Boondocks, the two central protagonists are a young liberal child named Huey and his popular culture obsessed younger brother Riley.  The comic deals with common issues in the African American community in such a biting and funny way that it garnered its own television series on Cartoon Network’s late night block Adult Swim.  From a little college comic strip to national television the series hasn’t ever been afraid to cast light on the black communities self depicted criticisms; unfortunately the same cannot be said in context of the white community.
In his article “The Slavery Hypothesis for Hypertension among African Americans: The Historical Evidence” in the American Journal of Public Health, Philip D. Curtin attempts to make the case that the disproportionate amount of hypertension cases in black Americans is not directly or indirectly related to early America’s slave trade.  The just of the hypothesis is that the higher rates of high blood pressure in black Americans are attributed to a genetic ability to preserve salt levels in the body.  Should an African without this ability be taken and enslaved they could eventually die from lack of this vital nutritional need.  Thus as more Africans were taken without this ability they died leaving only those who can preserve salt and later down the line with a higher sodium diet increasing the black populations risk for hypertension.  While his argument may be sound in idea its explanation is mired in subjective speculation, hypocritical supposition, and red herring arguments.
The least egregious of these errors is the red herrings he cast about in his article.  One, of the many, in particular he begins to describe a citation of Herbert Klien’s “Middle Passages” made in a Wilson and Grim article on the above subject.  In the citation Wilson and Grim give somewhat specific numbers of death rates for slaves in transport.  Curtin goes on to suggest that the numbers are not in the book and could possibly be made up.  Even his own numbers suggest that the 10 to 12 percent death rate is not unreasonable “but it throws some doubt on the method Wilson and Grim used to arrive at other findings”.  (Curtin, 1992, p. 1684)  For an educated guess a swing in 2 percent is not unreasonable at all considering most polls today have a 5 to 10 percent swing moreover such an insignificant swing does little to cast doubt but should reinforce the numbers Wilson and Grim found.
Curtin also takes subjective speculation to new heights by wondering what purpose withholding food and water from slaves serve.  He tries to prop up his argument by stating flatly “Why would the African slave dealers withhold water when their clear economic interest was to deliver the slaves in good condition for sale on the coast?”  (Curtin, 1992, p.1684)  The reading of the “Willie Lynch Letter: Let’s Make a Slave” by William Lynch not only describes reasoning behind withholding nourishment and water from slaves but directly contradicts Curtin’s logic in his assumption.  Let us make the supposition that even IF Willie Lynch is fictional, as some sources say, and the words attributed to him are made up; doesn’t the mere fact that the atrocities of slavery are such common knowledge that any reasonable mind can create a compelling image of slave control?  An image of slavery that includes the withholding of food as a means of creating dependency.
Curtin’s lowest comes at the expense of trivializing the whole slave experience.  He goes on to state that the conditions for slaves in transportation and in servitude didn’t impose any more bodily stress on a slave then that of a poor white individual literally saying “In fact, most historians of the American South now believe that the diet and disease patterns for slaves in the South was pretty much the same as those for the poor Whites.” (Curtin, 1992, p. 1683)
Needless to say who is most?  Curtin doesn’t give a reference for this particular information, making him sound resoundingly hypocritical in his condemnation of Wilson and Grim’s citations.  Furthermore it can go without saying that it is in the Southern historians best interest to cast slavery in the best light possible, for who wants to accept culpability for evil since  the possible ramification of doing so means accepting the proclamation that Andrew Johnson vetoed in 1869, as was done with the Japanese Americans.
While American society applauds the efforts of Aaron McGruder in exposing the trite and trivial in the black community we also accept as canon the trite and trivial musings of the so called educated white historian whose speculation of history is seen only through rose colored glasses.  It is in these two contradictory truths that racism is alive and well.

A Little Thought

December 20th 2008

I myself have no problem with live and let live.  It is tantamount to a civil society that we accept something that may be outright inverse to our particular beliefs or worldview as a means towards creating a better society.  If such a thing is an affront to society as a whole we instictively make changes as to protect all of society from a particular evil.  Now what does this rambling mean...

I am faced with the idea on a regular basis that because I don't ascertain to a particular belief system that I am a lost individual that needs saving.  Furthermore that because I don't ascribe to the generic Christian belief system that I shouldn't have a word to say in anything from politics to consumer choices as my voice is the abnormal one.  Society is also bludgeoned to death with the idea that anything a Protestant says is evil is.

My short response is this, if you are so comfortable with your worldview; if your self esteem is as centered as you propose it is; if your understanding of God is so complete then how in the world can a secular object, theory, idea, or comfort create such a threat in you that you must destroy it completely when God has the very power to destroy it himself? Just a little food for thought...

'Tis The Season...

December 10th 2008

Shut the hell up with the crap about "celebrating the spirit of Christmas" or "its baby Jesus's birthday" or any other of the myriad of retarded claims about this holiday season.

First the reason why we say "Season's Greetings" is because of the build up of holidays around the end of December.  Should we forget about the New Years that that statement includes?  Are Jews not allowed to celebrate Chanukah?  Are African-Americans not allowed to celebrate Kwanzaa?  They haven't said that so called Christians cannot celebrate Christmas have they?  Freedom of religion, I think I heard that somewhere.

Second the end of the year celebration has ALWAYS been about excessive spending and purchasing cheap shit we really don't need.  The modern idea of Christmas, which began at the turn of the 20th century, hasn't had the same feel as you pretend it should feel since we rode around on horses.

Third Christmas is a holiday ripped off from the pagan tradition of the Winter Celebration (absolutely no biblical scholar thinks that Jesus was actually born on December 25th, just ask your pastor, preacher, or church leader).

Lastly if you are pissed because of the so called hijacking of Christmas blame the Walmarts, Targets, Home Depots, Albertsons, Khols, or ANY retailer (whom you shop at) who sees this time of year as a means of exploiting ALL December holidays.

Okay Now...

November 22nd 2008

Now I'm going to go out on a limb and possibly get my Liberal Card taken away BUT, (insert big sigh), why in the hell were we (on the Democratic side) quick to judge Palin (our October STFU person of the month) on her apparent country bumpkinness when it was "discovered" that she didn't know that Africa was a continent and not a country.  There was much ado about this on MSNBC, Fox, CNBC, ABC, etc. that the woman didn't know this quite general elementary school knowledge yet when it came out that an aid made up the story there was barely any coverage of this.  Now I'm not for the "right side's" so called claim that there is a vast conspiracy by the "left leaning" news networks but this does give a tiny bit of creedance to their claims.

Just because we won doesn't give us Democrats any right to be pricks (we hated it for the last eight years ourselves when the inverse was true).  Lets be the better group and welcome our Republican bretheren into the folds and create a new and better United States.

Skinhead in Obama plot wants charges dropped

November 13th 2008

The above was taken from MSNBC in which it is described that one of the two men indited for conspiricy to kill President Obama (who was at the time running for the position) are whining because the 23 member grand jury (mind you they're only thing to do is see if there is enough evidence to send their actions to trial) couldn't have been impartial because only 2 people were white.  To this I say so the fuck what okay and?

For far too long this is what black members of our society have had delt to them and it isn't JUST grand juries.  They have all white juries in conviction, sentencing, and grand jury cases.  The lawyers in these cases all SAY an all white jury can be impartial so are they admiting that for the last hundred or so years that in fact those white juries cannot be impartial?

In short how does it feel you vile retarded old world backwards hick to feel a minute tiny small small small peiece of what it feels like to be black?

Ricci's Take #1

November 6th 2008:

Now for anyone who said keepin it real never works, boy they were so wrong.

Obama kept it real, and it made it through. He is now our first real president. Not just black, young, or the fact he ran one of the most brilliant campaigns out there, but real. Honest, and striaght forward.

As I said before, the Keepin It Real movement wasn't something that started with Dave Chapelle. Oh no, it was there before. My generation and ones after, saw his realness. We were tired of getting the dollar menu at McDonalds version of the American Dream. We want the Donald Trump version.

The funny thing is that no matter where you stand or who you are, he wants you to have it too. That's why he made it, and now we are in a new era of American History. Some thing I never thought I would share with my children, or anyone else. I always asked my mom what would you do if it happened. She told it wouldn't, and when it did, she cried. You have to understand, she was a child when the civil rights movement was in play. So believe it's a shock to all.

But it's not over, we got him in, and now we, as a nation, need to sacrifice to help the ones in need. We helped the Iraqis, and people abroad, now we need to help our own.

One of the major ways is to pass Prop 8 (if not in California, it's the right for Same sex couples to marry). If they adopt, and the ban is there, the other spouse would have to adopt the child they have, if they have children. That makes no sense.

They say their children would learn about Same Sex in school, that's bullshit. Well, now that I think about it, at least the kids would learn about something, instead of having days off all the time. Trust me, learning that should be the least of Parents worries. Not to be too graphic, but I learned about oral sex in school, so trust me, learning that, just might make your kids a little more tolerant, and mature in the long run.

The fact I learned that if one partner dies, and since a civil union isn't recognized in court, any relative can come and take away the other things, is ridiculous. I mean that's the life they shared, they invested in, and to know their is the possiblity that it will be gone cause people don't want to admit the truth, is stupid.

Since I live on Keepin it Real Blvd, I tell you why people voted the way they did. It grosses them out to think about man on man love. In some ways, I too, think it's a little weird. Everyone is ok with two hot chicks getting it on, if not, men wouldn't have the porn they have.

Their is something about two dudes having sex, that seems wrong, hell it's probably painful, but I know girls who have anal sex all the time. If it's wrong for them, and they want to ban that, then ban anal sex in general. Of course that will never happen. I say if you don't pay for it, and you don't live with them, shut the hell up and let them marry.

The constitution here in California has been changed three times before we even had one. If they change it for this, you should be scared, cause they will use the same tactic to change it for something else, like immigration, interacial issues, or even taking things back to the civil rights movement. Though I don't think this movement is the same, it opens up a window to change the constitution anytime, anyone sees fit.

This is a 20th century issue we need to get over, cause it's the 21st century, and we have bigger issues at hand, like why I gotta pay close to $10 for milk? What is that bullshit. That when I work, the overtime I get, accounts for nothing. Those are the issues we need to address. Not if Adam and Steve want to get miserable like some married couples are, by all means go for it.

As for the Election other than Prop 8, and Prop 5(to get drug offenders treatment instead of jail time) not passing, I'm proud to be a african american female, and the fact I helped accomplish what my parents, and grandparents fought to get.

Just one thing, it was equal rights for everyone, so we have a long way to go, cause some people aren't getting the equal treatment they deserve, remember, blacks are not just the main minority, there are plenty of minorities who are counting on America to help them, and look out for them.

Posting from Keeping it Real Blvd, where your wife was concerned about your child learning about Same Sex Relationships, and Marriage, only for the child to learn it through it's friends, and Dad's Porn Stash in his room..............

Screw It

October 24th 2008:

I was fully planning on developing this website even further before I went live but the overall feeling that I am getting from this election cycle is really preventing me from holding off my commentary until then.  So for the mean time this will be a stripped down page with my articles and thoughts directly on the front page.  Once I get the time I will divide the articles up and publish them correctly.

I'm on my school's website and doing homework when inexplicably the discussion turned towards church and God.  While I can be described as a sort of agnostic I can't for the life of me understand the overwhelming desire for bible thumpers to inject their religous beliefs into every conversation.  Yes you lemming this is a Christian based college (I didn't find this out until a year into my eduction) but for Christs sake God created some of the shit you're learning about so that we could help ourselves; an idiotic belief in what your pastor says doesn't help further your learning about abnormal psychology, music, or (yes one numb nuts brought god up in) algebra.

According to the Christian bible God was pretty self centered but I don't even think God would inject his awsomeness into a conversation about equations...

In short people, some of us weren't told until we signed the dotted line this college was Christian, so how about cutting our condemned souls some slack and not injecting your version of the "truth" into every conversation.
